My current body of work takes influence from found objects, most notably 'flotsam and jetsam'. My pieces are therefore by choice, tactile.
I work with two methods of building: slip casting and slab work. Within these two methods are two very separate styles of work thaat both incorporate the muse around me.
My work (when biscuit fired) is initially very smooth. It is when I glaze my pieces that they reach a state of morphogenesis and change into pieces that are both tactile and eye catching.
I do not believe that my work is an environmental statement: rather it is a response to the natural forces around me.
